Kat & Jamey’s European Aperol Spritz Themed Soiree

Katherine & Jamey came to us with a fun and unique situation - they had already been married for a year, but now it was time to celebrate. Kat & Jamey were a Covid couple, which caused them to have a super small, intimate (think less than 20 people) affair in Kat’s parents’ backyard. While the cozy affair was lovely, they still wanted to celebrate their marriage with their extended family and friends. That is where we came in.

The couple was going for “English garden party meets Aperol spritz vibes” and Terrain at Styers was the perfect backdrop. To help make their vision come to life, the talented souls at Design by Terrain flowered a garden arch brought in from their original backyard wedding, which served as a magical entryway for their guests. Of course, we had passed Aperol spritzes available when guests arrived as well.

To enhance the garden theme, Kat and Jamey wanted a seating chart that incorporated Design by Terrain’s flowers. Of course we enlisted Creamery Hill to bring their stunning bud vase seating chart to life. Playing into the fact that they were already married, the top of their seating chart read “one year down and forever to grow.” Creamery Hill also provided and styled a bright, springy furniture lounge that was placed in the Hot House, in addition to custom Aperol Spritz signature drink signs. For some even more special touches, The Redhead Design Shop made custom invitations and matching menu cards that were placed at each seat. There was also an old ornate glass window on display which featured a quote that the couple loves from Parks and Rec; “I love you and I like you.”

As if this celebration of love wasn’t special enough, there was a spontaneous moment that really captured the essence of the day. Kat & Jamey didn’t want to do a first dance since this was technically their second wedding. However during the reception, they felt so surrounded with love and wanted to share a dance for their closest family and friends to watch. Since we weren’t planning on doing a first dance, Kat had to pick a song on the fly. She immediately knew she wanted to do “She” by Elvis Costello, as a nod to one of her favorite romantic comedies, Notting Hill.
