Bri & Basie’s California Cool Meets European Chateau Collab

Bri & Basie are the epitome of California cool. The LA-based couple not only have effortlessly chic style, they also both work in the music industry. Basie is a DJ and the two of them met while working on tour for the same artist. Though Cali runs in their veins, Bri’s family is from the East coast, so they wanted to get married closer to her roots. With the stunning setting of Hotel Du Village, we worked to merge the classy European chateau vibes of the venue with the couple’s effortlessly cool energy.

We cannot talk about B&B’s wedding without swooning over the florals. Originally Bri had wanted all black and white florals to go with the black and white motif of the venue. However, a few weeks before the wedding, she changed her mind and decided she wanted to add in bright, punchy, fall oranges, rusts and pinks. We could not be happier that she did. The result was truly a floral work of art, thanks to Bloomers Florist. Everything from the ceremony pillars to the bouquets to the moody centerpieces to the piano arrangements were not only perfect, they were also completely unique, original, and perfectly captured the couple’s essence. To establish the moody feels, they even spray painted the greenery black and used black taper candles.

To add to the decor, Kelsey at Creamery Hill brought the couple’s large seating chart vision to life, featuring a large, moody arch with their B & B motif affixed atop. Guests could grab their acrylic name tags (painted to match their color scheme, of course) that were adorned with mini disco ball keychains. Creamery Hill also made a custom directional welcome sign pointing guests to the ceremony and sleek black table numbers to complete the moody tablescapes.

The true standout of the day was Bri’s iconic, satin, backless Danielle Frankel wedding gown from LOHO Bride. The movement of the train and fit of the dress was such a sight to behold, only made better by the cool party pony from Le Reve Salon and flawless makeup by Make Me Up Eva.

Bri brought some of her own personal touches into her details, such as an acrylic emerald clutch, white bridal sunglasses, Manolo Blahnik linen pumps, a rad two-toned plaid jacket, and chunky dad sneakers. We had so much fun with Kylie Brianne Photography as we were by their side to watch them capture all of these touches.
